DANOLYTE MALAYSIA PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy describes the personal data collected and processed when you use www.danolyte.com.my (“site”).  It also outlines how your personal data is collected, used, shared and protected, the choices and rights you have relating to your personal data and how you can contact us.

Danolyte (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is the exclusive distributor of Danolyte Global LLC, manufacturing distributing and selling their range of organic disinfectant and sanitizer products under license in Malaysia.

What personal data we collect and why we collect?

We ask you for certain personal data to provide you with the products and services you request. For example, when you make purchases, become a subscriber, contact our customer service, request to receive communications, create an account or use our site.

This personal data includes your:

  • contact details including name, email, telephone number and shipping, billing address;
  • login and account information, including screen name, password and unique user ID;
  • personal details including gender, home address, date of birth and purchase history;
  • payment or credit card information;
  • images, photos and videos;
  • personal preferences including your wish list as well as marketing and cookie preferences.

When interacting with our site, certain data is automatically collected from your device or web browser.  This data includes:

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you fill out our contact forms on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, phone number and message.  This personally identifiable information is obtained for us to process and address your request and to contact you.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with?

Danolyte Malaysia shares your personal data with:

  • Third party service providers processing personal data on our behalf. Such as processing credit cards and payments, shipping and deliveries, to host, manage and service our data, distribute emails, research and analysis, manage marketing and promotions as well as administering services.  When using third party service providers we enter into agreements that require them to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. 
  • Other third parties to the extent necessary to: (i) comply with a government request, a court order or applicable law; (ii) prevent illegal uses of our site or violations of our site and the Terms of Use and our policies; (iii) defend ourselves against third party claims; and (iv) assist in fraud prevention or investigation
  • to any other third party where you have provided your consent.
How long we retain your personal data?

Your personal information will be retained for as long as is necessary to carry out the purposes set out in this privacy policy (unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law). In general, this means that we will keep your personal data for as long as you keep your Danolyte Malaysia account. For personal data related to product purchases, we retain this longer to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and sales laws and for warranty purposes).

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).  Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How we protect your personal data?

We use a variety of technical and organizational security measures, including encryption and authentication tools, to maintain the safety of your personal data.

What rights you have over your personal data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you or have your personal data corrected if it is incomplete or inaccurate. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.  Where we have obtained your consent for the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Third parties may also collect information via Sites through cookies, third party plug-ins and widgets. These third parties collect data directly from your web browser and the processing of this data is subject to their own privacy policies.

What data breach procedures we have in place?

We shall promptly and without unreasonable delay notify you upon learning of any actual or suspected misappropriation or unauthorized access to, or disclosure or use of, Personal Data collected, processed, hosted, or transmitted by us in performance of this Agreement (a “Data Breach”).  Additionally, we shall promptly investigate each Data Breach that we become aware of or have reason to suspect may have occurred and, in the case of an actual Data Breach, with respect to such Data Breach. We shall also identify any reasonable steps that should be implemented to limit, stop or otherwise remedy any actual or suspected Data Breach.

Opting Out of Direct Marketing Communications

If you have a Danolyte Malaysia account, you can opt-out of receiving our marketing communications by modifying your email subscription by clicking on the unsubscribe link or following the opt-out instructions included in the message. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

As applicable laws and our company practices may change over time, we may decide to update our privacy policy, and if so, we will post the changes on our site.  If we materially change the way we process your personal data, we will provide you with prior notice, or where legally required, request your consent prior to making such changes. We encourage you to read our privacy policy and inform yourself of our practices.  This privacy policy was last modified in May 2021.
